Bridgeton Main Street Association – Operating Support (Phase XIV)
General operating support and promotional activities for the Bridgeton Main Street Association, downtown merchants and businesses interested in the revitalization and preservation of the downtown district.
UEZ Cost of project:$50,000
This initiative is consistent with the intended uses of zone development funds.
Riverfront Rear Façade Program
This program provides a funding grant that seeks to address the rear façade of the buildings/businesses that comprise the downtown portion of the riverfront in Bridgeton. Project grants will be used on exterior walls, doors, windows, framing, signage, lighting, and trim work. The program encompasses 32 businesses in 19 buildings.
UEZ Cost of project:$190,000.00
This initiative is consistent with the intended uses of zone development funds.
Irving Ave Gas Station Redevelopment Program
This particular project involves the remediation of UST at the site known as 155 Irving Avenue. Proper removal of these tanks along with the related equipment and backfill/resurface of the area are the necessary steps for further redevelopment of a key site on this major artery in Bridgeton. A Current RFP for 155 Irving Ave is now available.
UEZ Cost of project:$41,905.00
This initiative is consistent with the intended uses of zone development funds.
Municipal Port Authority Acquisition & Redevelopment
This project involves the use of UEZ funds to acquire and market property along the cohansey riverfront, which will generate funds for second generation UEZ use.
UEZ Cost of project: $475,000.00

Bridgeton Development Loan Fund
This program works in conjunction with private lending institutions, NJEDA,Cumberland Empowerment Zone and CBAC. Loans are given only to Urban Enterprise Zone certified businesses that have received tax clearance from the New Jersey Division of Taxation and remain UEZ certified and in tax compliance.
UEZ Cost of project: $265,000.00

General Façade Program
This program utilizes UEZ funds to implement a General façade program for all eligible commercial structures within the Bridgeton Urban Enterprise Zone. The funds will be used for façade issues including trim, signage, exterior walls, doors, windows, and related framing.
Estimated Total Cost of Proposal:$250,000.00
Other Funding Sources:$75,000.00 (30%)
UEZ Cost of project:$175,000.00 (70%)

Downtown & UEZ Policing Project-Phase III
This program funds two (2) police officers to function exclusively within the the Bridgeton UEZ. The program also provides two (2) bike patrols within the Central Business District.

Food-Business Park North (Florida Ave Industrial Park) Development
This project funds infrastructure improvements for drainage pipes along the SW lot sites to allow for new construction.

Central Business District Redevelopment Plan
This project will result in the creation of a Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Central Business District (CBD) which is located in the heart of the Urban Enterprise Zone. The focus of the project will be a current evaluation of CBD strengths and weaknesses, potential areas and strategies for future business and job growth, and the Redevelopment Plan that, once adopted, will serve as the working document to strengthen and revitalize the Central Business District.
